Hurricane Tomas turned Tropical Storm turning Hurricane again?

Tropical Storm Tomas, which was a hurricane just last weekend, may be gearing up for hurricane strength again. The storm has already caused serious damage in its path. Hurricane warnings are issued for Haiti, southeastern Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands. Hurricane conditions could occur by Friday.

Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected in Jamaica, but in Haiti and the Dominican Republic rainfall could total 5 to 10 inches with some amounts up to 15 inches possible in the mountains. Life-threatening flooding and mud slides are likely in and around the mountains.

Tomas has already caused major damage to areas of the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. From major cracks in highways to washed away roads to flash floods to sever water damage, the devastation wrought by Tomas is unbelievable and fortunately, no fatalities have been reported.
